Nice to meet you.
Training and education
I majored in Psychology at New York University, graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I earned my doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology and have been a licensed psychologist in California since 2002 (PSY 19128). I completed my internship and post-doctoral training at Children’s Hospital and Research Center at Oakland where I served as Chief Resident in the Department of Psychiatry. I received advanced postgraduate training in family therapy through the Association of Family Therapists of Northern California.
Clinical experience
Before private practice, I worked as a pediatric psychologist and clinical supervisor at Children's Hospital and Research Center at Oakland for ten years. I have also taught at local psychology graduate schools and currently provide consultation and training to schools and community mental health organizations in San Francisco and the East Bay. I have led workshops and trainings on varied topics including parenting, the high school admissions process, self-injury, family therapy, clinical supervision, and multicultural psychology.
Lifelong learning
I continue to train in the areas of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, interpersonal neurobiology, and mindfulness and meditation practices.
Affiliations
I am a longstanding member of both the American Psychological Association and the Association of Family Therapists of Northern California.
I live with my husband and two children in San Francisco where I seek balance and restoration in the outdoors.
